Today Mommy Josie contemplating Play-Doh and how much, even at my age, I love to play with it. The same is true for Barbie. And of course, diapers. I’m supposed to have outgrown all of those things? What is it about toys that we’re supposed to be too old for that fascinates me so much? Maybe it’s the fact that they’re supposed to be forbidden. Forbidden things have been an endless fascination for people since the beginning of time. But let’s get back to Play-Doh and how this morning I stamped out a Big Mac and fries that look amazingly real. The same is true for the flower garden I made last week. As with anything, the pleasure is in the details. My adult babies know exactly what I’m talking about. Any ole diaper change just won’t do. It’s the details that make that particular mommy/baby time enjoyable. The application of the cool, creamy Desitin. The fresh smell of powder. It’s the sensory experience that causes the warm feelings of love and care and takes us to the place of infinite pleasure of being mommy’s special little one.
